You may not pay a Grapevine Traffic ticket online if:

1.  You are requesting to take a defensive driving course, Teen Court, or a payment plan;

2.  You are requesting a compliance dismissal;

3.  You are charged with a tobacco violation and you were age 17 or younger on the date of the offense;

4.  You are charged with an alcohol violation and you were age 20 or younger on the date of the offense;

5.  You were younger than age 17 on the date of any other offense;

6.  You wish to contest the charge or request a dismissal;

7.  You want to post a cash bond.

You may not pay online for a defensive driving fee, deferred disposition fee, or Teen Court fee that is past due.

How long does it take for my property account to be updated when I mail in my payment?

When are Denton County Property taxes due?

Denton County Property Tax bills for each year are mailed in October. Taxes are due upon receipt of statement and are delinquent if not paid on or before January 31st of the year following the year in which the tax was imposed.  

If you mail payment for your taxes, the envelope must be postmarked by the U.S. Post Office no later than January 31st.   Example:  2017 Tax Bills are due no later than January 31, 2018.  A payment with a U.S. Post Office postmark dated January 31, 2018 or earlier will be considered timely paid regardless of the date the mail was received.

Original tax statements are sent to all taxpayers. A duplicate statement will be mailed to your mortgage company if requested by them. If your mortgage company did not request the statement, write your loan number on the statement and send it immediately to the mortgage company.

What kinds of payment options are available to taxpayers with an over-65 or disabled person exemption in Denton County?

Only taxpayers with an Over-65 or Disabled Person Exemption may pay current taxes on their homestead residence in four installments without penalty or interest; however, the taxpayer MUST request the quarter payments in writing and MUST pay at least:

1/4 by January 31st
1/4 by March 31st
1/4 by May 31st
1/4 by July 31st

If an installment is missed, the 6% penalty is imposed and interest begins to accrue.

Who can register to vote in Texas?

To be eligible to register to vote in Texas, a person must be: 

  • A United States citizen; 
  • A resident of the Texas county in which application for registration is made; 
  • At least 18 years old on Election Day; 
  • Not finally convicted of a felony, or, if so convicted must have (1) fully discharged the sentence, including any term of incarceration, parole, or supervision, or completed a period of probation ordered by any court; or (2) been pardoned or otherwise released from the resulting disability to vote; and 
  • Not determined by a final judgment of a court exercising probate jurisdiction to be (1) totally mentally incapacitated; or (2) partially mentally incapacitated without the right to vote.

What if I don't have a driver's license, personal identification number, OR a social security number? Can I still register to vote in Texas?

A voter who has not been issued a driver’s license or social security number may register to vote, but such voter must submit proof of identification when presenting himself/herself for voting or with his/her mail-in ballots, if voting by mail.  These voters’ names are flagged on the official voter registration list with the annotation of “ID.”  The “ID” notation instructs the poll worker to request a proper form of identification from these voters when they present themselves for voting, unless they are a voter with a permanent exemption on the voter registration certificate. The voter must present one of the seven (7) acceptable forms of identification: 

  • Texas driver license issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS)
  • Texas Election Identification Certificate issued by DPS
  • Texas personal identification card issued by DPS
  • Texas concealed handgun license issued by DPS
  • United States military identification card containing the person’s photograph
  • United States citizenship certificate containing the person’s photograph
  • United States passport

What are the symptoms of COVID-19?
