The City of Surprise offers online business license renewal for most business types. Please review your renewal notice when it comes in the mail 90 days prior to the expiration of your business license.
You will need your:
- Business License Account Number - You will find this on your renewal form in the upper left section.
- Online Renewal Pin Number - You can find this on your renewal form in the bottom right corner.

How long does it take to receive my business license?
It takes up to 10 business days, after completing the online renewal process, to receive your new Surprise city business license.
How long is a business license good for?
The city license is only valid for the calendar year in which it was issued.
How do I renew my license?
A renewal notice will be emailed or mailed to you in September. Business License renewal fees are due on December 31st of the current year. Late fees will be assessed if not paid by the due date.
