HOW MUCH DO I OWE?
The tax you owe can be calculated using the rates on your renewal notice. You can also see the FY 2020-21 schedule of tax rates (Section V), approved by the City Council and effective July 1, 2020. You must also pay a $26 administration fee and the $4 State AB1379 fee.
WHAT IF MY PAYMENT IS LATE?
The tax portion of a renewal payment is subject to penalties if received after July 31, 2020. Due to the impacts of COVID-19, some businesses may need more time to pay the business license fee due on July 1, 2020. If your business has been impacted, the City will be able to extend your business license renewal deadline by 60 days without penalty. Businesses will have until September 1, 2020 to pay fees, and penalties will not begin accruing until October 1, 2020. See your renewal notice for penalties and the dates that they apply, and add the penalty due to your late payment.
