FAQs

How many gallons of water are in a unit (ccf)?

One ccf is 100 cubic feet of water, or 748 gallons.

This month I have a large water bill. What should I do?

During your regular meter reading, unusually high consumption may be an indication of problems including: leaky commode tanks, leaky faucets, leak in main house shut-off, or underground leaks. Reading your meter is a good way to check for leaks in your home. Turn off all of the water in your home and then look at your meter. If the needling is turning, you have a leak. If you have questions, call the City's Contact Center at 336-373-CITY (2489).
