What are the ways to pay the utility bills?

• Pay by Mail or at the Office:

Office hours are Monday-Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The drive-thru window is open Monday-Friday from 7:00 a.m to 4:00 p.m.


• Payment Drop Box
You can place your payments by check or money order in the drive-by drop box located at 101 Ray Sanderson Drive. The dropbox is located on the east side of the main office building below the drive-thru window. We will post all payments placed in the night drop box to the account on the following business day.


• Pay Online
You can view your account information, including current and past bill statements and consumption usage, through our online account system. We accept Visa and MasterCard payments. Please do not use the pay online system if you are in termination status for non-pay. You can access the online payment portal by clicking on the PAY NOW button.


• Pay By Phone
Please call 1-800-781-4490 if you would like to pay your bill by phone. Please do not use pay by phone if you are in termination status for non-pay.


• Automatic Bank Drafting
Payment of your utility account may be set up to automatically draft from your checking account or savings account. Payment will draft on the due date. To apply for this service, download the bank draft application, fill it out, and return it to our main office at 101 Ray Sanderson Drive. You will also need to bring a voided check or a copy of a check with the bank draft application.


• Budget Billing
This utility bill payment program equalizes monthly payments based on previous billing history. The program is designed to allow you to pay less during the high usage months (May – October) by paying extra during low use months (November – April), thus making consistent payments year-round. Budget billing is available if you have established a billing history by living at your present address for at least one year. 

How to report a water outage?

• Call customer service at (256) 746-2888, or
• Comment on the Madison County Water Department Facebook page
When reported, outages are posted in the phone system and on Facebook
