What are the ways to pay the utility bills?

Six Easy Ways to Pay Your Utility Bill


1. Online: DigiPay allows you to pay for water, sewer, and garbage collection online using your Credit Card or E-Check. You can also track your payments and water usage over time. Registration is required in order to use this service. Payments are accepted 24/7.


2. Bank Draft: Print out our Bank Draft Form to enroll and return by mail to PO Box 8049, Cary, NC 27512-8049 or scan and email to: 311@townofcary.org. This service will automatically deduct the amount of your utility bill on the actual due date each month from your checking or savings account. You will continue to receive a monthly statement. There is no charge for this service. Each month it will save you time, a check, postage, and eliminates the worry of being late with your payment.


3. In Person: Unable to pay in person at this time as Town Hall offices are temporarily closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
We welcome your payment in person at the Finance Window inside of Cary Town Hall, which is located on the first floor of 316 N. Academy St. enter through our South Entrance off of Ambassador Loop Road. Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.


4. Drop Boxes: These brown boxes are located in the South Entrance Parking Lot at Cary Town Hall, off of Ambassador Loop Road, and in the parking lot at the Cary Senior Center in Bond Park off of High House Road. Payments are collected Monday through Friday only.


5. Phone: Call 311 or (919) 469-4000, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. to pay your bill using your Credit Card or E-Check. There is no fee for this service.


6. U. S. Mail: A return envelope is included with your bill if you choose to send your payments via the U.S. Postal Service. The address to mail in your payment along with your payment stub is:

What are the non-payment charges for utility bills?

Fees for non-payment of past-due utility charges:
 

Business hours, Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. excluding Town holidays: $33
After hours: $48
Repeat Call Fee charged anytime a second trip is necessary to perform a requested service: $65
 

Additional Fees
 

Sanitation fee: $19.50/month
Additional solid waste cart (65 gallons or 95 gallons): $4/month
Purchase additional 18-gallon recycling bin: $8 

How will I know if my payment is being deducted from my account?

Automatic drafting is usually effective with the second billing period after you have signed up for draft service. After you sign up for the program, look at your next utility bill. If we are drafting your account, a bank draft message will appear on the bill. If no message appears, we are still processing your request and you will need to pay the bill as you have been doing. 

When is my utility bill due?

The current charges due are payable upon receipt of the bill. Current charges are considered delinquent after the due date. 

What if I can't pay my bill by the due date?

If the amount due for current charges is not paid by the due date, the  account will be subject to a one percent penalty, minimum charge $5. All  customers will be waived one late payment penalty per calendar year.  Waived late penalties will not appear on a bill, so any billed late  penalties must be paid.

If you cannot pay the full amount by the due date, it may be possible  to arrange installment payments by contacting 311 or (919) 469-4000.
