I purchased the property this year. Do I have to pay tax?

 If you have recently purchased the property then please inform the County Recorder's Office about the new ownership and new mailing address. Because tax bills are mailed out to the person who is in the record. So that person is responsible for either pay the tax or inform the Recorder's office to mail out the tax bills to a new owner.

My taxes are paid by my mortgage company. Is there anything for which I am responsible?

If your property taxes are paid by the mortgage company then it's your duty to keep track of whether they are paying by the due date or not. You can request the Treasurer's office to also mail out a copy of your tax bill to you so you can also check out your taxes. Also, check out the "End of Year Statement" carefully in which all details are mentioned how your money used from your account y the mortgage company.

When will I receive my tax bill in Utah county?

In Utah county, property tax bills are usually mailed out in the month of October approximately in the third week. While the due date is always November 30. If the due date falls on the weekend then the due date will be the very next day. If you don't receive your tax bill till November 1 then please call the Treasurer's office. You can pay with a personal check (your name and address must be pre-printed), cash, or through money order.
