Who do I make out a check to and where do I send it?
Checks are to be made out to New Hanover County Tax. They can be mailed to: New Hanover County Tax, PO Box 18000, Wilmington, NC28406.
When are taxes due?
Property taxes are due by September 1st and are delinquent after January 5 of the following year. A 2% discount is offered during the month of August. Discounts not taken will be forfeited. Taxes that are past due are assessed 2% interest for the first month and an additional 3/4% interest for each month thereafter.
