I failed to pay my property tax by the due date because I didn't receive the bill. What should I do?

You might have changed your address and shifts to a new location. It's your responsibility to inform the county's assessor office about your relocation. This will not relieve you from the penalty. Please inform the Assessor's office if you have changed your address at 843-665-3056 or visit their office located in room 104 of the City-County Complex, Florence, between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

How much penalty will be added to my tax if I failed to pay tax by the due date?

The due date for paying tax is January 15. If you failed to pay by the due date then you will be charged a penalty of 3% from January 16. An additional 7% (total 10%) of the penalty will be charged from February 2. From March 15, it will be increased to a total of 15% penalty. If you don't pay the tax, then the taxes for real estate and mobile homes will be collected through a public property sale.

For further assistance, please call at 843-665-3095 or visit room 107 of city-county complex, 180 North Irby Street, Florence in working days.

When will I have to pay my property tax?

A tax or millage rate is adopted by June 30 for the upcoming year. The millage rate is multiplied by the property's assessed value to calculate the tax payable amount.

Real estate property taxes are due by January 15 of each year and collected by the Treasure's office. If you don't pay your tax by the date then a penalty will be added to your tax bill.
