When are property taxes mailed?

Tax notices containing the Non-Ad Valorem Assessments and the Ad Valorem taxes are then mailed out by the Tax Collector to the assessed owners and addresses as shown on the certified tax rolls, normally on November 1st each year. In cases where the property owner pays through an escrow agent, the mortgage company should request and be sent the tax notice, the property owner would then receive a copy of this notice. Taxes are considered delinquent if not paid by April 1st of the following year.

Is there any discount on early payment?

The following discounts are applied for early payment: 4% discount if paid in November 3% discount if paid in December 2% discount if paid in January 1% discount if paid in February No discount if paid in March

Taxes become delinquent April 1st of each year. All unpaid taxes as of May 1st, are advertised in the local newspaper and the cost of this advertisement is added to the tax notice. All taxes unpaid by June 1st is subject to the Tax Certificate Sale to be held on or before June 1st each year. The costs of this sale is also added to the taxes due. When paying current taxes, we accept cash, checks, and credit cards. Delinquent taxes to redeem Tax Sale Certificates will need to be paid in cash, money order, cashier’s check or credit cards.

What are other options to make my property tax payment?

When paying your taxes, our office offers several different convenient options. Payments made in person; credit/debit cards, personal checks or cash are accepted. Credit/Debit cards are subject to a fee of 2.5% with a minimum of $2.00. Payments made using the website or the pay by phone option (877-753-6585) are free when using an E-check. Credit/Debit cards are subject to a fee of 2.5% with a minimum of $2.00. For more information on the convenience fee please read about the fees below. Office Locations Web Payments To pay by phone call: 877-753-6585 When paying taxes with a Credit/Debit Card our vendor charges a convenience fee. The Tax Collector’s Office receives no portion of this convenience fee. For E-Checks a $20 returned check charge will apply.
