What does the assessor do?

The assessor assesses all the properties within the county for tax. He determines the market value of each property and finalizes the tax amount. The assessor doesn't decide the tax percentage as it's done by the Government.

If you do not satisfied with the assessed value of your property then you can appeal to the assessor for reassessment. You can further appeal to the Board of Equalization if don't satisfy with the response from the assessor.
