When can I file my appeal?

The deadline for filing an appeal is April 1st. To file a tax appeal to the municipality for reassessment, the last date is May 1st. Your application must be reached in the office by 4:30 PM. If you send a parcel postmarked on the due, it will not be accepted. You will receive the assessment notice by February 1, then you can file an appeal. 

Does a disabled veteran ( or 65 years old person) have to pay a filing fee?

If you want the Assessor to re-assess your property, then you must have to pay the filing fee. You can pay the fee in cash or check to the Tax Administrator of the county. But if you just filing to deny a senior citizen or disabled veteran deduction, then you don't have to pay any fee.

How many comparable sales are the best to use?

Remember, quality is better than quantity. That's why you don't need to use comparable sales more than five sales. It would be sufficient to use just two or three. Just keep in mind that sales should be actually comapreable and real not just the listings of property for sale.
