FAQs

I just throw the citations away. Why should I follow the parking regulations?

Parking regulations are in effect to create a fair and safe parking  environment. Citations issued by Salisbury University Police are written  under the Maryland Uniform Citation Code and carry the weight and  importance of citations issued by any law enforcement agency in the  state of Maryland. Unpaid fines are placed on the violator’s Gullnet  account at the Cashier’s Office. As with any other Gullnet charge, you  may pay online, in person at the Cashier’s Office (Holloway Hall 219),  or by mail to Salisbury University, Cashier’s Office, P. O. Box 2195,  Salisbury, MD 21801.

As a part-time or evening commuter student, do I really need to purchase a parking permit?

Yes, everyone is required to purchase a permit if they park on campus.  Commuting students may purchase the Evening Only permit that allows  parking in the Parking Garage and Main/East Campus lots from 4:45 p.m.  until 7:45 a.m. Monday through Friday, except the Maggs lot. Parking in  Maggs lot is from 4:45 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.

What should I do if I lose my parking permit?

If the permit is lost or stolen, it must be reported immediately to the  University Police prior to being able to purchase a replacement. The  replacement fee is the same amount as the original fee.

If I receive a parking citation for "Failure to Register Vehicle" and have a valid parking permit, do I have to pay the fine?

Bring the citation and your vehicle registration card to the Office of  Parking Services. Once we have verified you have a valid permit for that  vehicle and parking lot, the citation will be voided.
